This was made as a documentary about Britney but you could easily have watched it as a dystopian thriller about a toxic patriarchal society bent on destroying a young woman who simply wanted to live freely.

I legit wanted to reach through the TV and strangle the life out of this cretin. Tell yourself what you need to you fucking scum.
Well that was creepily predatory and close to an abuser grooming his target. ...I knew she liked it, he said, stripping her of agency...
I had to deal with the paparazzi once. I was working for a nonprofit at the time and we landed a super famous star to come to an event. Two paparazzi showed up and they just oozed grossness. The best shorthand I can use to describe them is obnoxious frat boys, but worse. Just these parasitic dudes with backwards…
I don’t trust he’d leave her alone even for a day. Nothing he says shows empathy and respectful boundaries.
This moment was just unbelievable to me. I don’t understand the unwillingness to even consider if he was in the wrong in this situation - what do you have to gain by not even questioning if perhaps you were mistaken after so much time?
He’s a wealthy, cis, white male. Teflon for consequences.

Between the brazen slut shaming, obsession and profit off the Brittney split 15+years ago, the Janet Jackson bullshit, getting no scrutiny for his unvaccinated kids, and the blaccent....
Yah, I don’t agree with you. I think the way she was treated by the media an public was way more harsh because she was a woman. I also think there is something wrong with saying someone has limited rights because they make bad decisions. By that reasoning a lot more people should be under conservatorships. She was…
For her to have some say who is in charge of her conservatorship at this point. I also think you are pretty blithely ignoring the way media and the music industry treated women just because it all looks like it worked out in the end for her.
Okay, but Justin Timberlake is still an asshole, right? #janet4eva
SNL has always been very hit or miss. I really had higher expectations for Dan Levy though. He is so good and needed better material. I did find this one line in the monologue very funny - how people stop him on the street now; unfortunately what they say is “Eww.”
No. You can watch the funny parts in the morning with your coffee. Any time I stay up to watch I regret it and realize I should have just gone to bed.
I know it may be par for the course when it comes to SNL in the last decade (save some political skits) but I just really wasn’t tickled by much.
This one made me laugh, as did the Super Bowl Covid Party, but for the most part the episode was meh. I stuck around for Levy of course, and kept the show in the background…
I think there are consequences for Armie Hammer because he’s not actually a star. He’s an actor with minimal charisma whose had some measure of success.
It's not an old people thing.
My brother is a few years older than me (mid-40s), and he believes this.
Yea I feel for the athletes who are peaking now in their careers but... this really shouldn’t be happening until the pandemic is completely under control.
