What if, as you were sitting there musing about how she should just be happy to have a job, a toilet fell from the ceiling and landed directly on your head?

I really like how they’re named “Family Dollar“. Makes me want to switch my Alanis Morisette Iron-Y-Tron.
I don’t know, there’s such a bizarre self-congratulatory circle in art and fashion, at least from what I saw at uni, I can easily see it being yet another bunch of White people enthusing the “direction” it’s taken shockingly unaware of anything outside the bubble.
I’d like to add as an SF gay: all of the above is true for the gays plus adding the fact that everyone is already in an open/poly relationship so like no one is looking for an actual boyfriend.
omg, East Bay represent!
I knew some catty girls at my school, we all did. Hell, I wasn’t always an angel myself. But because of the way women are socialized, especially in my middle-class, suburban neighborhood, we rarely resort to violence. If we do, shit has gone down.
Having heard a lot of teenaged boys give the “but THEY started it!” story in my day I guarantee the “I was only opening and closing a door” line is 100% bullshit.
Here’s what I have say about this:
I was a girl. I knew many girls. None of us ever did that. None. Of. Us. Either West Bend girls are a unique species or his mother lies.
The piece opens with an incident that “still bothers” Morgan, where a girl in computer lab told him to stop opening and shutting the door. When he didn’t she “smacked him in the face” and he “smacked her back.” This was the advice Morgan’s mother gave him:
If I lived in a home with a crazy mom, as this kid clearly does, I’d be fixated on women attacking me too.
And the girl “slapped” him, but according to him he had cuts all over his face? That’s not a slap- more like she was wearing a ring and closed fist punched him several times. So either way he’s lying- he did something shitty and got beat up by a girl, or his injuries were not nearly what he was claiming. I’m going…
And he, of course, is blameless in it all. The girl just lashed out for no reason other than he closed a door. That’s all he did.
Seriously, what’s with the constant references (real or not) to women attacking him!? I’ve worked in a high school (not far from west Bend, actually, with similar demographics) for 15 years and I can count on one hand the # of times we’ve had a girl hit a guy: one because the guy spread rumors that he had nudes of her…
The girl who did that was probably his mom.
“It happened once when my mom was in high school. A girl purposely broke her own arm just to get another person in trouble.”
Also, like, we all HAVE TO critically analyze the things our parents tell us! My mom’s a racist but unfortunately (for her) raised her children to be intelligent, so I learned how to talk back when she would say offensive shit. Just because your mom claims a girl she went to HS with broke her own arm to blame someone…
The quote about the mother’s advice is just disturbing. The whole story around that quote is ridiculous. How about teach your kids not to be garbage human beings, not that everyone (especially teenage girls) is out to get them? How is the mother’s first reaction to this that the girl could lie or do something to frame…
“Ryan is convinced that if it had been a fight between two girls, things would’ve been different. He has this idea that since I’m a woman, if I were in the same situation, I could do whatever I wanted. I could pull out a knife and stab a guy, and I wouldn’t get in trouble.”
This kid’s take on hunting basically sums up the mentality of all these fucking dickheads.
