Why don’t Muslim men wear hijabs, too? You say they don’t wear shorts, but neither do Muslim women. The women have to cover up a lot more than the men. Why?

Could someone explain to me why Muslim women wear hijabs? And why Muslim men do not? And no sarcasm please. I really want to know. I tried to look it up, but the only thing I found on Google was that “men and women aren’t equal,” and women should cover themselves for modesty’s sake, so men won’t think lustful thoughts…
