When I originally played Dragon Age: Origins, I got the epilogue slide where Cullen went completely off the rails, murdered people, etc. I already hadn’t liked the guy, but that sealed it for good. Then they decided to revamp him and suddenly I was supposed to regard him as a potential love interest. It did not take.

Anders already was played by someone else in Dragon Age 2. I think Greg Ellis only voiced him in the DA:O expansion.

I am definitely one of those people who flips the trackpad orientation back to how it used to be.

I was about to say something snarky about people who invert, and then I remembered that I changed the direction of swiping to scroll on this laptop’s touchpad, so I’ll just slink off into a corner now and live with my shame.

You’d be surprised. I went by the Everett store not long ago on a Saturday and, store occupancy restrictions being what they are these days, the line to get in went halfway around the block.

Same. I kinda lived in photo mode during Horizon Zero Dawn. That game was relentlessly pretty.

Same thought crossed my mind. ;) I’m sure what it amounted to, though, is some variation of “we’ll go through the effort to do accurate models of this agreed-upon range of PlayStation products, but if you want us to have to talk to another division of Sony to make replicas of TVs that are also accurate to each period

I started singing it to myself the instant I opened this page.

I used to have to edit Reuters stories for publication on an American news site, which was a similar problem from a different angle. I feel your pain here. (Medical and science stories were the worst.)

Got it in one.

I’ve been meaning to give Squadrons a shot. If you’re enjoying that, by the way, and are looking for more sci-fi vehicles to take out for a spin: Wipeout Omega Collection is ASTONISHINGLY good in VR. It’ll put you right in the cockpit and you can run every race in the game that way. So much fun. (I also find it a lot

Now playing

The first time I tried out Moss at PAX one year, I might possibly have yelped aloud “oh my God, it’s the Suzzallo!” and then spent way more time than I was supposed to just looking at the library, having INTENSE college flashbacks. :) (It’s incredibly obviously modeled on the reading room in the Suzzallo Library at UW.

I’ve never been told anything about putting my own name to my own fic except that I should be ashamed of it, hide it, and never allow anyone in a professional sphere to get wind that I’d ever written any. And the first time I met one of the writers from BioWare, all I did was offhandedly mention a particular fan

Last line of the article: “Let’s end this on a reminder: this only applies to companies and organisations, not people’s personal use of the game.”

What amazed me was that when they finally, properly restocked Switches this year, they even reissued the Animal Crossing special edition, which is the sort of thing that Nintendo just does. not. do. I found one in early October at a local Target that had about half a dozen of them on the shelf. For once, being late to

Another thread I read about the awards reminded me that Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Doom Eternal came out on the same day.

Heh, yes. (To be fair, though, if anyone anywhere in any galaxy hasn’t worked out the basics of “hey, if you boil this fragrant plant stuff it makes the water taste good,” they’re pretty dim.)

it hurts us, precious

I’ve had PlayStations since the PS2 but had never once had a Nintendo console until I finally bought a Switch this October. The whole A/B vs. O/X thing on the controllers is still breaking my brain.

By the way, if you’ve got a PSVR, Sony’s sending out free (and I do mean free; you don’t have to pay for shipping) camera adaptors to make them plug in properly to the PS5. Google “PlayStation camera adaptor” and you’ll get the link. It requires a valid serial number from your PSVR’s processor unit* and your address,
