TL;DR

Am I older than all of you if I know the first app I paid for was on a Palm device?  I don’t remember the name, but it allowed more features in the calendar app.

I do this with my kids. I tell them what needs to happen. If they don't do it, I don't count down or give them a second chance. If I have to bring up punishment, it is already too late. Hopefully they won't be "that guy" once they are grown.
