Every generation of SNL seems to have one or two players who rise to big time mainstream success (Murray, Murphy, Sandler, Ferrell, Fey, and Wiig come to mind).  I’ve always wondered if Hartman would have joined that group.

To paraphrase a certain District Attorney, you either leave a hero or stick around long enough to become a goat.  Scioscia chose the latter path when he signed that 10 year contract.

Isn’t a catcher who doesn’t wear a cup insane?  If you’re wearing a mask, cheat protector, shin pads, etc. then why wouldn’t you protect such a vulnerable part of your body?

Regardless of how you feel about Trump and Clinton this is proof that anyone who says it doesn’t matter who is elected president because they’re all equally corrupt/stupid/etc. is a complete fool.

One thing I’ve always wondered - how would the players react if an ump started dancing around like Drebin did after calling some strikes?  In the movie the batter just glares at him but in real life does he go George Brett on the guy?  Or would he be too shocked to do anything?
