You could configure it so that it works as a standard game controller even in desktop mode.

I develop add-on software for small businesses and I can say that DMCA is a huge boon to small businesses. IMO what’s really the problem is that these old games even qualify for protection after all this time. Copyright protection runs for far too long nowadays. The idea of copyright protection in the first place is

Exactly. Not only has even its intended purpose seen it weaponized, but it’s proven to have a ton of unintended ways in which it is constantly abused, and yet we still can’t just admit it doesn’t work and scrap the whole damned thing?! What’s even the point of government if they can’t accomplish something as simple as

Based on what they’re targeting, I’m wondering if the next big GTA release is a ground up remaster of the ps2 era GTAs, including a massive three active city online component.

Take-Two? More like Take-Everything!

Unjust DCMA request should be tied to mandatory fine and possible repayment for the victims

This is a prime example of what’s wrong with the DMCA; companies use it as an unassailable magic bullet without any oversight with which to annihilate anything they find vexing in even the slightest.

The DMCA is too powerful and shouldn't be able to be abused like this.  We need legislation to protect creativity, especially if money isn't being made.  I know that's a wild dream when the governments serve corporate lobbyist interests though.

Remasters are on the way, or Take Two is just a jerk publisher. Both can be true.

Are they distributing materials owned by the copyright holder? Not as far as I can tell. Are they distributing materials or tools with the sole usage of bypassing established copyright protection methods? Also no.

This makes me never want to bother with any GTA game again. I was already lost with the Online game. But damn, just let the modders mod. It’s not like they’re disrupting any revenue flow at all. Hell, they’re probably the only reason people are still buying the old games to begin with.

They already re-released them

Remakes incoming.

There’s always a way to “fix” these issues.

Night in the Woods is a game that handled the topic of mental health fairly well, I think, particularly of the idea of deconstructing mad = bad. I know it might be an uncomfortable game for many in light of Holowka’s life and death, but it’s not afraid to confront the self-perpetuation of abuse and worthlesness that’s

My biggest issue with them in particular tackling Silent Hill is that they handle delicate subject matter like abuse, PTSD and addiction with the subtlety of a jackhammer. They zoom in on those themes not because they have anything to say, it’s purely an attempt at elevating horror schlock by injecting shock value

They were probably the cheapest to hire...

Nice, glad Konami is willing to just kill Silent Hill forever with this move and spare us from more failed attempts at recapturing what made 2 great.

Microsoft is more focused on creating a gaming ecosystem these days. Even when they were doing extremely well with the 360, they had no desire to spend billions creating and marketing and trying to get devs to make exclusives for a portable.

For a digital fan event, that works, for real E3, I have to submit real credentials, including my game company email address and (depending on if I have alumni status that year) things like a biz card, paystub, insurance card, etc. to prove I work there.

Pro tip: if you need to sign up for something and are worried about data leaks, don’t use your actual stuff. For example, if it needs a phone number, use one of the phone numbers that plays a song, and if it asks for an email, have a email address you use for account for stuff you don’t care about.
