Unfortunately, you just made it all better with the comment of the year. Now I’m happy as Larry and laughing my ass off 😂
“Again, wanting better for your favorites is reasonable.”
““court of Public Opinion” didn’t kill the show. I never said that.”
“I tried but I just couldn’t — As I said, my time is at a premium, so I’d get more out of my time by watching a product that is a known quantity over one that, up to the point I watched, was wanting.”
“we have a difference in knowledge base on what makes good storytelling in cinema.”
You’re completely missing the point there unfortunately.
Hahahahahahaha
I’m not sure we watched the same show. And in the end, I could pick a million things about other shows, say The Witcher, that they didn’t resolve or define in the first season, did they get cancelled? Nope. Who the fuck is Geralt? No fucking clue.
You are utterly obliviously unintentionally hilarious.
The fact that you’re giving Hawkeye and, especially, Wheel of Time a chance but “LA Bebop” goes lower and lower on the ladder… and you’re the same folk trying to tell me that “anime purists” didn’t affect your decision or Netflix’s? I want to laugh or say something biting, but I’m trying not to do that as much as…
Thank you.
Sigh.
“watched the show with an open mind and gave their honest opinions”
Thank you. Exactly my point, but I think you elicited it much more reasonably and succinctly. There’s no way this decision wasn’t effected and informed by the backlash itself.
Which is fair enough. I’m just saying that a lot of people “thought” it was bad, because they listened to other people first or loved the anime a little too much, and they just couldn’t get passed any of that.
It really, really, wasn’t my “fave thing”. But I imagine you read a few lines of what I said and then more of other people’s responses, and the point just went over your head like a cloud with no silver lining.
Firstly, yep. You watched absolute toxic shit like “You”, enough for that to get multiple seasons, so why the fuck not???
Squid Game was problematic and rote, generic even, but entertaining nonetheless.
Or maybe, conversely, the esteem you hold the original anime in is just unrealistically overblown. Take off the rose tinted glasses and step back from the screen a little.
