The most hilarious part in this increasingly stupid feud between Deadspin and the Cardinals and their fans is the irony found in the self-righteous and condescending tone in all these Deadspin writers (that incredible last paragraph must have been typed with a damn smug smile on Barry's face). Thank goodness they are

PSA TO FELLOW CARDINAL FANS:

Shit, I'm a Cardinals fan and I find it funny. All teams that win multiple championships in a short time are required to be hated on - that's the real national pastime.

If the Cardinals being in the playoffs turns Deadspin into a bunch of cunts, then I hope they make it every year.

It is really getting super cute how hard you guys are trying to 'disparage' the Cardinals and their fans. You see, the really annoying Cardinals fans are the ones that feel they have to try really hard to convince you how awesome their team and fans are. The same applies to bloggers who try too hard to make them

"I didn't see it," Wainwright said. "I saw Adrian doing some Mickey Mouse stuff on third base, but I didn't see what Yasiel did. Those guys are fired up. This is playoff baseball, they want it over there." So, he was asked about it (didn't bring it up), and basically explained it away as excitement. Deadspin would

I know you're trolling, but I took the bait anyway.

So how would you handle someone calling you a backwards, uneducated redneck? He not only attacked a team, but insulted people in general. And what are we taught as children about bullies? Oh just that they feel the need to put others down for their insecurities and issues.

The Cardinals in many ways have become the new Yankees, a team whose dogged insistence on continuing to win has made the rest of baseball exhausted and irritated by them.

Reminds me of the Nationals last year. Fans going insane when their consistently bad teams finally win...and then lose to the Cardinals.

Hey Owen, what's your stance on the controversy surrounding the Yankees name? I think they should change it since the term originated as an insulting term for Americans. It doesn't matter that nobody is actually offended by it, according to your article, so you advocate changing Yankees to something else, right?

I prefer to look for Wailord. Havent found him yet.
