This spring I had my 12C in for routine maintenance and the service manager told me tail of a 12C owner in Toronto, where I live, who put on over 80,000 km. He daily drove a 12C. Anywho he had to have the engine replaced and McLaren footed the bill (out of warranty).

Even with the front wheels in the air, they still kept trying to back up.

It cites seven other complaints from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s database that make similar allegations against the company.

Didn’t the Prius deal with similar accusations and after many millions of dollars were spent, it was discovered to be human error? Also, how many “normal” cars have crashed in this way? I just think that the Tesla is under a lot of extra scrutiny in the news.
