Hey! I don’t live there but the good news is you are only a couple hours from New Orleans which RULES! Also the South is definitely worth exploring, with little enclaves of artsy and strange interesting people scattered all over the place in Alabama and Mississippi and a growing food scene. You’ll have a blast.

meh the rush can come from eating, sex, shopping, self harm, fighting.. addiction is more about seeking feelings to escape feelings than a substance. This said, it is used as an excuse in many cases I believe.

Off topic somewhat but in Italy, where I lived for some time, anyone with a University degree gets called “doctor”... like, a 4 year degree. AND it’s common for people to refer to each other that way in more formal or professional settings. I had so much *eyeroll* going on during that crap that I may have caused…
