Yeah, I bought my “Bigma” bird lens for less than $500 used on KEH. So for the price of my tripod + lens I’m still less than the Peak tripod. Also got a cheapo gimbal head and tore it apart to rebuild the pivots, but there’s no way that head figures in to a discussion that includes weight.

If space is a premium, I can see where the Peak is worth it.

Like a lot of Peak Design gear, this thing is a marvel of engineering. Also a marvel of marketing.

People who need more room can pay for it. If my seat reclines, I’m assuming you didn’t want extra space, so if I need to recline, I’m doing so.
