If Tesla removed the feature on 11/18 and the guy bought it from the used car dealer on 12/20, that means he didn’t do his homework and have the car check out to have everything that the used car dealer claimed that it has.
I could go on all day about how much I love this car and that it’s the best car I’ve ever owned, as can any other Tesla owner. I am a tech geek. I have always been a car guy and have owned many sports cars over the years (I still have a M4 and a S2000, although I don’t drive them much anymore). This is by far the best…
Since it came out in September 2014, there have been zero fatalities attributable to the non-drivers of the autopilot vehicle.
Except no. Panasonic manufactures the cells with Tesla’s chemistry, and Tesla then manufactures the batteries.
Wow! That’s deep. You Jalopnik recently posted a links to articles about Tesla in 2010-2013 and whoo boy! based off the comments, I would have expected Tesla to be bankrupt and out of business by latest, 2015. Let’s revisit this article in say, 10 years and compare notes on your other companies copying and mass…
But they outsold MINI, JEEP and HONDA. Sure they might not rank up there as a brand, but do note they only have a few models of cars (Model S, X and 3).

Have you looked at the sales figures in Europe? The Model 3 was the best selling car in 2019 in the Netherlands, for example. Not just best selling EV, it was the best selling car.
I hate the argument that Tesla should be treated as a tech company, as it lets them get away with calling their advanced cruise control a “beta test” that sometimes crashes and kills people. Cars are much harder than phones to build and prevent from killing people.
Panasonic makes 21700 cells to Tesla's specifications. Tesla makes the batteries.
1st Gear: man... I’m feeling some serious regret over selling my shares in the high $400 range. But I’m happy in general that things are going well for Tesla.
1st gear:
I talked about this before. Telsa’s valuation and an older company valuation are based on completely different metrics.
Well, technically, Panasonic designs the batteries and processes, but they are “made” in a giant building that says Tesla on the side near Reno. Panasonic has large teams embedded in that building. And living in the Circus Circus. Anyhow, its a JV and they both have a hand in it.
Reverse: There is a LOT more about that story than most realize.
Paraphrasing here: “Well-established excellent car manufacturer almost matches battery range of car worth 1/3 the money”
Neutral:
