It doesn’t matter if you are doing 60 mph or 160 mph, if there is someone behind you who wants to go faster than you do, then move the F over.

In this case, it appears that the VIN has been swapped. So to BMW, this is a regular federalized 2-door.

Every car I’ve ever owned has had reverse where it belongs: between P and N. You can keep your Flintstones cars.

Agreed, although considering the need for infrastructure build out that it requires anyway, I was wondering why it choose tires instead of rails, which would achieve set lateral travel with lower rolling losses. If it’s a quick and dirty knock up as part of an investment scam, that would make sense though.

Your values don’t line up quite right: $3750+$5100=$8850, so I’m assuming your total is correct and you didn’t list the vehicle value correctly and it should be $3775

Like the idea, but if it was me I’d go the sleeper route and have none of the gaudy badges and graphics. Also the wheels look too small.

You probably did the original calculation wrong. There were two columns. First column was for buyback (which had restitution built in). Second was compensation if you have it fixed. Some people incorrectly added both together.

I think their design chief is just a huge fan of creases. As if he spends his spare time at home carefully folding sheets of paper, then using a thumbnail to get just that perfect sharp crease.

That’s some quality bitch-slappin!

It still cracks me up how frequently I see people type ‘adds’ instead of ‘ads’

Is there a particular website to do this on? I’ve finally resorted to blocking these pricks but I get steady calls for “free home security systems” (I’m not a homeowner and I RENT) and thanks to buying a new car 2 years ago I get this warranty scam too. Doesn’t matter that I tell them every time to take me off. They

We live in a world where people get voice mails from “the IRS,” from a phone number in rural Michigan, saying “The IRS is filing a lawsuit against you unless you call us back and follow our instructions by going to Walmart and buying $1,000 in Amazon gift cards, and reading us the numbers over the phone, because

The XD is also the version with Nissan’s new optional 5.0 V8 Cummins turbodiesel powerhouse engine, which puts down a healthy 310 horsepower and 555 lb-ft of torque with all its emissions equipment intact.

Well, this thread got hot & heavy quick

I had a 2WD 1988 Mazda B2200 that I got for free and had for just over a decade before trading it for a snowmobile and trailer a few years back. It had literally no options, not one but man that truck was a lot of fun.

My friend in high school had one very similar to yours, but it was a diesel 5 speed. I don’t think it would even get to 60...

They really thought that airline name and that symbol right after it is a good idea?

If you were using the FTC value tables published yesterday, those numbers were inclusive of your “generous compensation”. If your vehicle value was $7307 after the mileage adjustment, that is what you’re getting. No $5100 on top of that.

It’d imagine your old car will be on the lower end of the payment scale. It’s going to reflect depreciation. If your car was already a pile of shit (sounds like it), then the scandal didn’t do much to affect your resale value. If it was a 2013 with 40k miles, it saw a significant depreciation.

And with that please give a warm Jalopnik welcome to our new staff writer, Kristen Lee. She comes to us from a small regional print newsletter called Road & Track and DDs a car as powerful as approximately 15 Baja Bugs. She’ll do great around here.
