I just don’t understand how people are still giving them money, and I say that as one of their original (kickstarter) backers. Is it just the same people giving more and more money like some kind of cult?

The game gives you a setting to launch and play the game in Offline mode.  I am never playing online, so this argument against pause is moot.  This isn’t an Always Online game, as you can literally play it on a system without internet access.

So I’m guessing you have neither pets nor children, but yes in fact. Allow me to introduce you to this entirely new concept called “Responsibilities”. Yes. Not being able to pause is in fact a problem.

Are you being deliberately obtuse or are you actually dull enough to not get the absolute basics of why pausing is a good thing for games to let you do?

Former EA contract staff here, who has been directly acussed of similar corruption by the player base; I just want to give a few perspectives as to why you should take this with a massive pinch of salt. I’m not saying it cannot happen, but it would be a collosal screw up on EA’s part if they did, and with the money…

The sad thing is, the players have spoken. This is totally acceptable in Ultimate Team spaces because people are willing to spend thousands building their perfect team. It brings in a shit ton of money. Combined with virtual monopolies for major sports titles too, the entire genre has stagnated and festered. It sucks…
