There’s a Kinja “ad” of the top news stories on the different sites that pops up in the middle of every article. This picture of concerned Cory Booker is usually the first one that shows up. It often fits the various concern-inducing Jalopnik stories

For a while now, that picture of Corey Booker has been the leading image of a Root Institute promotion.  It has been positioned in the middle of almost every G/O Media article.

Exactly. This was a calculated and incredibly smooth PR rollout to get people on their side. It even came with a snappy video! Which all means that, while I ultimately don’t care about which Billion dollar corporation gets more of my money, in principle I’m on the side of Apple here.
