James Corden sucks.
James Corden sucks.
Yeah. While I think I understood the core dynamics at the end of the review, there were still moments I had go back and re-read previous parts again to try to make some sense of it. This is a weird review as it seems to just assume that everyone reading this is already familiar with the fascinating mess this film is…
Aargh. My head spins with confusion. Maybe you should not assume your readers know all about this real life story and who this Knoop person is, or any of the real or detail-changed novels and films and whatever else you reference in the first two paragraphs. If the screenplay is biased towards a character because the…
There was no “JT LeRoy”. Albert invented the character—something she had a prior history of doing on a much smaller scale—and wrote all of the books using the name. She initially spoke as him* over the phone, but later hired Knoop to play him in public, at readings and stuff.
Okay maybe I didn’t read it thoroughly enough but I’m still confused as to their relationship and this whole situation- who wrote the books, who took credit? It says up top that LeRoy had written Sarah, but also Albert wrote all the books? And Albert would be the telephone voice of LeRoy and LeRoy would be the...…
Isn’t it on Cooper for getting his team ready for this kind of play? Cooper is smart and he had to know that Torts was coming with pressure, making it hard on Cooper’s guys to get into the passing lanes and have easy shots on net so Cooper needed a game plan for that and he didn’t. They can dream all they want but…
In my (very amateur) opinion, it seems like more than anything they’ve just been beaten to hell by the Blue Jackets since that first period of the first game. Every time they get the puck, there’s somebody in their face. The second they get near the goal there’s someone pushing them away. The second they get near the…
Anything is possible, but Tortorella did coach that franchise to its only Cup, and you know he’s gonna be fired up to stomp on their throat.
This may blow your mind, WWW, but men sell women out for less than a thin dime on the regular. This is just the latest example. A genuinely terrible guy, Trump-voting and supporting (even after the kids in actual cages shite), wife and kids cheatin’ on, whoremongering, pill-popping pantload of a weak, weak man, makes…
Warren Zevon - Night Time in the Switching Yard
Good evening. Here’s the late, great Cozy Powell with some guys
I, uh, rented a basement apartment and didn’t set myself on fire* at 25.
So by the time this guy was 25, he had been married, was a D-1 basketball assistant coach and then a head coach, had an affair with one of his players, got that player pregnant, resigned from his head coaching job and then got divorced?
Agreed, I think there’s still a lot more to unpack about Spider-Verse’s approach to the medium than there is to unpack in Black Panther. It’s great, and fun, has excellent style, but it’s Big Themes are worn pretty well on the surface.
Did you catch the ‘making of’ with the directors? Really interesting stuff about…
I don’t have time right now to address everything about BP I would like to say (other than I now REALLY want to watch it again), but would like to add the following two comments:
Does it not bear mentioning the idea this is a markedly progressive movie falls apart completely in the actual text where not only is elite rule the savior of the nation and the world the villian is the only one expressing discontent and that villian is specifically written as a psychopath obsessed with power and the…
I wish the CGI in the movie had a bigger budget. I enjoyed Black Panther but some of the fight/action scenes(particularly when he fights Killmonger on the underground train tracks) look like CGI from 2002.
