“A three-hour bus ride to Sarasota,” “stuck on an airport tarmac indefinitely due to a mechanical problem,” “dreary-ass Syracuse, ... 27 degrees Fahrenheit,” “Washington, DC,” and “the New York Mets” are Cantos III, IV, VI, XII, and XVII of Dante’s Inferno.

Oooh wah wah, poor millionaire Noah Syndergaard has to spend a day in lousy Syracuse. Whatever, at least he still gets to play in the big leagues with...

This show was my pulpy guilty pleasure for 14 years. When my brain was too tired for The Wire or The Sopranos in the early years, Supernatural was my go to antidote. It stayed with me through Breaking Bad and the explosion of Netflix goodness to this day.

I think it sort of started turning it around when Cain appeared, but yeah, I agree. And the season 11 episode “Baby” was honestly one of my favorites of the entire run.

Yes! I’ve always thought Jensen Ackles would be a perfect super hero.

I loved the one from Season 6 where Robert Piccardo played a leprechaun.

I thought the original Apocalypse finale in season five (partly done from the car’s perspective), was a perfect ending. So, I largely bailed after that. But the show continued to deliver great gimmick episodes, throughout—including their trip to the “real” world, the high school musical episode, and of course,

I full-heartedly love this show. It’s been a constant source for comfort TV for the last fourteen years and it’ll be sad for me to see it go. I know it wasn’t the greatest show and had some bad seasons, but the leads were always fun to watch.

The first five seasons were probably as good as network genre shows can get. It sagged for a while from 6-9 (still with some standout episodes in those seasons, even if the arc wasn’t particularly great) and then they finally found a direction again and I’ve enjoyed it quite a bit the last 4+ season. I actually went

I was in high school when it started and I have gray hair today. So that’s a long-ass run in my book.

This makes me unreasonably sad. I first saw ads for this show when my wife and I started dating. This show is as old as my relationship with my wife. I had hoped it would last forever.

Even when it was at it’s worst, the “case of the week” episodes that weren’t centered around the larger plot were always pretty solid.

No longer will the Winchester brothers save people or hunt things

I stopped after Cas blew up Heaven again.  The Angel bullshit went on too long.  I’m getting myself steeled for Seasons 9-15 now.

Season 5 was actually the original ending to the show, but it got picked up last-minute for a renewal, and they rewrote the ending to have Sam escape hell.

The first 5 seasons were some god damn great TV...and then it kept going.

... Granted, I stopped watching a while ago, around when they killed off Felicia Day’s character, but do they ever get around to explaining just how the in name of hell they were able to keep a ‘67 Impala running for that long?!

I really, really hope that, in particular, Jensen gets a good role after this. He’s not the greatest actor in the world but he’s got great comedic timing and damnit, I just love the dude. He deserves continued success.

The show probably should have ended when Kripke left and the original arc was completed but it managed to tread water long enough to actually get good again for a while.  Still, I think they’ve done pretty much everything they can with the idea and it’s a good time to shut it down.

I had to play some Carry on Wayward Son after hearing this. Arrow ending and now this is putting me into shock.
