So I can give you my experience of a precocious King reader, I’d definitely check with a librarian or YA expert (we used to have quite a few around here) for more expert opinion, especially on appropriateness.

This makes me happy, that young kids who don’t know King are jazzed for this and may find their way to his books as a result. He’s a great author for teens (and middle-schoolers in particular, as Katie alludes to).
It’s not dumb to be in a youth group. It’s just a fact of life for a lot of people, and even if you’re not a super churchy person it’s nice to have peer groups. (Signed, pastor’s kid who is definitely not dumb.)
My hat is off to the amazing job the marketing team have done on this movie. I can’t think of any Stephen King adaptation so hotly anticipated by people who’ve never heard of King.
So, what’s left of the Commentariat, what are y’all’s verdict on this? Generally Ryan Murphy starts really strong but loses everything by the halfway point. Last season was just shit from the word go, though.
Probably. I don’t know. My guess is he probably has a lot going on in his own life that needs justifying at the moment, and that’s why he thinks I am trying to justify my own actions. It must be very difficult to live your life with that much internal conflict. Hopefully he finds a way out.
Dude, what is wrong with you. I literally said that I bought it because it was cheap, even though I knew it might be fake. It’s there in my original comment. I have no need to justify anything. I am incredibly happy with my purchase, and more so with the price I paid for it. I don’t feel evil, my conscience is fine,…
scroll back up and take a second look at that gif. he’s clearly fighting a hindu deity
I think that guy needs a nap, yeesh.
I literally said comparing them in the hand to the originals. So when I say “indistinguishable” and “seems real.” And no it’s just price inflation. When you live in a third world country, price inflation becomes a lot more obvious.
I’m just a stranger on the internet, you don’t have to crank your hate meter to 100 and…
I bought a set of 4 Dota2 figures, knowing the odds were high they were fake. But at $15 for 4 instead of $45 each, it seemed worth the risk. There are probably nitpicky ways of determining their fakery, but they look and feel great. Comparing them to the expensive originals, at a glance and in the hand they are…
This dude has had an interesting legal career.
This. I’m always sensitive to public calls for a college coach’s firing over a team’s performance, probably because I was a coach for a long time. People like Buzbee rarely stop to consider that they’re talking about a real person with a family. Does Buzbee really think that Sumlin doesn’t know last night was a…
Let’s take football games played by teenagers a little more seriously.
I get the humour, but in the same vein, I’m astounded that this investigation and adjudication is turning into such a clown show. I thought they’d been beaten up so bad on the most recent debacles that they were now going to entrust professionals with this task, that they’d learned from their mistakes.
Possible but by doing so they’re opening themselves up to other issues, like god knows what coming out during the appeal, and pissing off the union, again, which will make CBA negotiations that much harder.
When you’re the Ginger Hammer every potential suspension looks like a nail.
I don’t think they are that sophisticated, I’d go with Hanlon’s razor on this one and they are just incompetent.
I watched his “response from snapchat” and didn’t understand a word he said. I do hope he gets his contract sorted out.
