He’s spoken about this some before on his podcast, but Grantland was still growing when ESPN killed it. They also got little to no help from ESPN when it came to linking to the site, and did nothing to get advertisers for their podcasts. Yes, it was losing money, but some of that was ESPN not properly monetizing it.
