I don't think it's that Peter is into Alicia who doesn't care about him (which suggests he's interested in the chase only) but he's interested in Alicia who is great at her job. Flaws and all, I do like the two together and when you think of some incidental but nonetheless key moments of Peter loving/respecting Alicia…

But it is unkind, though. Perhaps cruel has a harsher connotation but think of the first time we met Canning when he had Alicia help him with his coffee (I think) or something, and then get his fake bus pass so she entered the court room all flustered while he was well prepared.

Eslbeth does have kids. In her season 1 episode she mentioned her son helping her with the computer. She's become so more pronouncedly silly (not in a bad way), I'm curious to what extent they've made it up as they've gone along and if they still count season 1 Elsbeth as part of her trajectory.

The car conversation is actually two episodes later in "What Went Wrong" after Cary and Dana get Kalinda thrown in jail. Kudos for mentioning it, though, because it was the HUGE moment post season 2 when we saw Alicia and Kalinda about to mend their relationship before shenanigans went down at the end of the season 4…
