I tried Casey’s pizza over Christmas and found it to be better than gas station pizza has any right to be. It’s a bit more expensive than a 7-11 pizza, so the corresponding jump in quality makes sense.

Since starting my work from home, live at home, everything at home life in March I reignited my interest in painting D&D/wargaming miniatures just in time to never be in the same room to play a game with them. But the painting has been a nice “unplugged” hobby for when I need something to concentrate on and to have a…
Since I started working from home last month, I’ve watched a lot of miniature painting tutorials while working and either through being thoroughly suggestible or awakening my on/off interest in painting tiny men, I’m considering ordering Warhammer Quest: Blackstone Fortress from my local game shop (if they have it in…
I’ve been going to Iowa from NYC every other Christmas and for various other occasions (funerals and major birthdays, for the most part) for the past five years to visit my fiancé’s family and they’ve never served anything terrible, even having been raised by people that survived the Depression. Casseroles have been…
The Olivia James Nancy strips are great.
You know, if Sinister Monopoly guy can commit to his ideas and make them real, maybe we should all get in touch with that creative spark and bring our own dumb ideas to life. Because how much worse can they be?
Whoa, that looks good enough to draw me into a Subway, in spite of the store’s weird bread stank.
Take heart- I got through Dark Souls by hiding behind a shield, but even I have beaten the base game in Bloodborne. If I can do it, so can you!
For Father Gascoigne, his third phase can get easier if you thoroughly explore Central Yharnam and exhaust dialogue with a particular NPC. I don’t know how much you want me to spoil. If you don’t want to use that in-game trick, oil pots and molotovs can work wonders if you time them right; I would also say that you…
This is the kind of thing you ask for on death row when you know the Governor’s not going to call in a reprieve.
Yeah, Mass Effect also came to mind- especially in the 2nd game. If you’re playing Paragon, your hardass mercenary companion will swing from being pissed at you for halting his revenge mission because of his collateral damage to coming around to a live and let live mentality. I guess at least Ashley remains a space…
Having just played Pillars of Eternity and read a Chris Avellone interview where he bags on how they handled companions, I have to harp a little on what they got wrong and right about story companions in the game since it may be on topic for this week’s article.
Agreed on all counts. The Railroad is the only faction I find interesting/sympathetic in Fallout 4 and I only keep human companions around long enough to get their unique perks (at least, the ones worth getting) before dumping them for Dogmeat again.
I was just writing about that book! He also made a little nest for himself out of Spider Man merchandise!
I highly recommend A Burglar’s Guide to the City by Geoff Manaugh if you’re interested in learning more about how burglars subvert and exploit architecture. It’s really interesting to see how clever some of these guys are/were- despite more than a few ending up stuck in a crawlspace and needing help to get out before…
Those were out of sight.
I always looked forward to strategizing which flavors of hot chocolate to try in February when City Bakery was still around. I’m glad the big stationary store nearby (now called City Papery) is hanging on at least.
Kentucky Route Zero has been the only game that I’ve sat down with my fiancé to play (she’s not much of a video game person, outside of Mario 3 or Mario World), taking turns reading dialogue as we advanced the story. So I may look into the TV edition to make it easier for the both of us to get through the whole thing…
I’m currently trying to finish the first game on Mac after having it for many years (only the dragon fights and the last area left, maybe the high level content if I feel like being a completionist) but I had picked it up on Switch to play at my in-law’s. The port seems pretty good, but combat got so chaotic either…
I think it depends on the company. I don’t think the MTA particularly cares on their regional trains as long as you aren’t rowdy, but on the subway they don’t allow it. A lot of bus companies have a no alcohol policy since people would get wasted on a long trip and then the driver has to deal with them/clean up after…
