I recommend leveling the ground for safety’s sake. If the area is already acceptably level or won’t be walked on, then skip the leveling.

I have a smartphone that can browse the web. I don’t need to use a company computer that is tracked and monitored.

Just don’t take things from your workplace - it’s stealing. And, no, we don’t “all do it”.

Weed, level the ground, cover with ground covering fabric, and then mulch to 3-4" depth. It won’t get rid of all the weeds, but it keeps them to a minimum.

I encourage folks to check the mattress in EVERY hotel, budget or pricey, for bedbugs. Pull the bottom sheet off and visually examine the corner and seams of the mattress for what appears to be rust. If you find any of it, insist on another room - and then check that mattress, too. If you find it in that one, go to

This was excessively useful - thank you so much for sharing it!

Practice an Iyengar or other yoga sequence that has been clinically studied and measurably improves one’s balance and stability. I’ve experienced visible improvement in both after practicing the below sequence two-three times weekly for a couple of months.

I concur with other reports: short term use helps, long term use exacerbates depressive symptoms. After being a daily smoker for many years, I now have had 2 tiny tokes since 31 March of this year.

1 tablespoon of this seasoning provides a whopping 80% of one’s daily recommended sodium allowance.

I know better than to retire on a cruise, aka “floating Petri dish”. I am an RN and cannot swim...

I just don’t bother watching them. At least I could advance through the slideshows at my own pace...

These are YUMMY ideas, Claire - thanks! As for using mayo, I prefer to make a dip for my grilled cheese sandwiches with it.

Those of us with sensitive skin must have detergent residue removed, otherwise we have skin outbreaks. As well, if the detergent isn’t removed, even if you don’t have skin sensitivity, the residue contains chemicals that can be absorbed through your skin and can impact one’s health.

Thanks, Sarah. I liked your article a lot - it gives eco-friendly ideas for not using the tainted fabric softeners that are commercially produced.

It gets rinsed away in the washer. My clothes do not small at all, not a whiff of vinegar.

Just make your own fabric softener: 2 cups of water + 2 cups of white vinegar + 1/8 cup vegetable glycerin yields an unscented softener that effectively removes detergent residue. You can even add essential oil to it, if you want.

I had the delight of seeing Harvey Fierstein perform live off-Broadway in Torch Song Trilogy back in the day. Estelle Getty played the role of his mother. It was awesome, just like Harvey. He’s the real deal and I admire his chutzpah.

I made the switch from iPhone to Android several years ago. I am glad, every day, that I did, for the numerous reasons you shared.

Tongue scraping is a quite old practice, notably in Ayurveda. It may seem like it’s new to you, but it has been used in many parts of the world for a very long time.

Don’t scrape your entire tongue with it by going to far back into your oral cavity - that’s what’s triggering your gag reflex. Try scraping the front half of your tongue, instead, and see if that helps.
