I read an article last week that claims it’s because filmmakers now want to make the scenes look naturally lit, so if there’s no lamp in the room there’s no lighting. I say that regularly shooting scenes that you can barely see for effect makes you a bad filmmaker.

Who keeps hiring these people that have no clue how to light a scene?
