Final Fantasy XIII is a highwater mark for the series. The cast of characters rules. Visually, it’s pure luxury. And the CSB battle system was, if not perfect, at least interesting.

Honestly, even the episodes where the show has a marginal point that’s worth a damn usually had some fucked up ideas. Like Go God Go had the right idea that Dawkins’ brand of Atheism is just as antagonistic and dickish as religious fundamentalism. But it’s resolved with heavy transphobia.

Oof, the screenshot genuinely gave me a “is it April 1st?” moment. This looks terrible; what a waste of horsepower. Tailor-made for everyone who thinks Bluepoint remakes “just look better”.

I wouldn’t say this actually looks any better except for the resolution. Whatever graphical changes they’re doing is inconsistent with the style of the game materials and assets and it does not look better to me.
