I recall reading that these models *were* used in the game but only in select cut scenes where they needed to do close ups; that they had a number of different versions of the characters that they swapped out depending on what the system could handle in any given cut scene. Camera is far away? Lowest poly version.

There are so many variables at play for the Mpemba effect to happen (difference in temperature between the hot and cold water, impurities, temperature of the cooling apparatus, container size, shape, and material) and the speed-to-freeze difference is small enough that you’re probably no better off using hot water

How about - moving your hard drives to the computer’s front bays for easy swapping and replacement? Costs very little and takes maybe 10 minutes. Saves lots of time if you need to troubleshoot drive issues or make archives.

Take it back. It just took a while to update.

Squirrels are everywhere. Moving one from one area to another isn’t likely to create a problem for anyone but the squirrel.

Agreed. Double or triple the estimated times on Blue Apron every single time. And we did close to 20 meals with them before canceling. Just not enough time.

City view is usually a euphemism in the hotel world that just means your window faces the windows of the building across the street. Just like how “garden view” is a euphemism for parking lot. Last year I stayed at a hotel where the “water view” was a view of a swamp, versus their “beach view” which was a view of part

I suspect “slave wages” probably doesn’t mean what you think it means. It’s a pretty common term, though the meaning shifts a bit in certain political and civil justice circles. A historian will give you one definition while an Amnesty International volunteer will give another. Most people though will give you one in

They should get the studio that does the MGS series. Those games are consistently high caliber in voice acting. But acting is just part of the realism. They gotta get the sound right with volume, reverb, etc for each scene. This is something the Shenmue games didn’t really do, so even if you had the Japanese audio, it

The comments here clearly demonstrate a pent up need for a blog curating the most interesting choreography from across the web.

That was awesome, even though it wasn’t 100% authentic (some scenes were filmed at high frame rate then sped up in post)

Now playing

I love choreographed group interplay. As far as full length music videos, BoA’s Only One is probably the tightest I’ve seen... though they don’t use props in any interesting way. As far as performances in general, this AXYZM video and the collection of I Am Me performances on America’s Best Dance Crew are amazing.

Any idea if that spokesperson was still employed after their remarks appeared on this article?

There are others in this thread. Most of the AmazonBasics products I’ve bought have been great; the HDMI cables being the one exception.

Not really a deal since Amazon is selling at $170 and in the past (according to a review earlier this month) without the promo they sold for $120... so it's kind of a fake sale.

Everyone knows women are made of sand.

I think it's gorgeous, and if you found a way to keep it shiny and not rusting, I'd be tempted to do it myself.

It's beautiful but for how long? Don't these things rust really quickly? Can you treat it with something to prevent rusting in the long term?

Where I live people tend to be very transient. More than half the homes in my neighborhood are rentals, and about a quarter are people who only stay for a few years. It's a first home kind of neighborhood for people who can't afford to live downtown. So getting to know the neighbors isn't on anyone's agenda. I tried.
