But then who will make millions of dollars off of SDKs and licensing fees and transaction fees???

my understanding is it isn't the download speed, it's the latency. your button input goes half way around the world; the game process that input; video is then sent half way around the world back to you. fine for office applications and turn based strategy- completely unusable for FPS and other fast games
"However, that doesn't mean Japanese people won't make death puns if the console flounders. "
True, it won't be totally accurate, but more accurate than a poll; few people take polls relative to the # and % of people visiting the site. Same goes for those using analytics-blocking software; it's a very small percentage.
This made my day
Walter, you have Google Analytics installed... So is this poll to tell you the difference between the browser people who vote use, and the general visitor? It might be interesting in a way. How bout sharing the actual data from Analytics with us. No need to even wait for the poll to close.
THIS. It's why the iPhone, which didn't even have 'copy & paste' at launch (as well as a ton of other common features), did better than any smart phone before it. It's all about usability. Developers on Linux (and to a lesser extent, Windows) have a lot of catching up to do; too many 'old school' approaches...…
Can you send me resources for those? Not having Quick Look in Windows is very frustrating. Is it part of 8 or is there an app to enable similar functionality? Closest app I've seen was MaComfort but it's really no comparison. I don't even need plugin functionality- just the basics would be a godsend. I don't have 8 on…
Sorry, poor word usage. I run Linux and Windows in Parallels. I get the "native" Linux apps from Fink. Some Linux apps compile totally fine on OS X with little to no modification, though I've rarely had to do that.
I forgot OS X doesn't allow writing to NTFS out of the box! It was built in back in Snow Leopard, but it wasn't enabled by default, but I simply installed "NTFS for Mac" forever ago and completely forgot.
You're terribly mistaken. For starters, OS X is a Unix-based OS just.like.Linux. You can easily run Linux applications on OS X; they're sisters from the same mother.
Well, that was their intent, but it hasn't amounted to anything more than a tech demo. http://www.openoutcast.org/wp/gallery/oasis-screenshots/?album=1&gallery=14
Perfect timing!
If you weren't using the iOS syncing, facebook & twitter integration, iMessages, Facetime, and the killer productivity apps that are OS X exclusive... then you weren't really using OS X.
Methinks you aren't aware of why people choose OS X over other operating systems. The same reasons why someone would choose to use OS X are the same reasons they would choose NOT to use Linux. I say this objectively; having a triple boot setup myself.

This track is easily the best thing to come from FFX. It's better than the vast majority of tracks from better FF games.

What about music INSPIRED by the games? The vocal collections, Pray and Love Will Grow are AMAZING. Just listen to the vocal version of the classic Final Fantasy Prelude theme.
