That's what the FF concert did- a few people that travel about but local groups doing the bulk of the playing.

I can run most typical Windows and Linux applications at native speeds in virtualization on my souped up Mac. For graphic intensive games that are Windows-only, I simply reboot into Windows. It only takes like 30 seconds.
Ha! I'm also a Google Desktop holdout. At least at the office. My office system is archaic and the built in Windows Search is unusably slow. I'm dependent on that double Cmd
Then you'll be happy to know I collected him in a cup and returned him to the sandy beach :-)
A lot of people REALLY like it. I tried it but found I wasn't using the extra features so I just went back to Spotlight. Based on the raves of their core users you may likely come away with a different experience.
That's exactly what I do- creative suite, iwork, browser, email, evernote, and text editor. Anything else gets the cmd+space treatment. I got HyperDock and LOVE it. Have you tried it? I hate using a mac without it now. Kinda dependent.
I'm terrified of bed bugs, but then again I live in Boston where they are experiencing a resurgence. The NPR coverage of crying homeowners doesn't help. Now I pack my clothes in bundles by day and put them in big zip lock bags. This way I can leave my suitcase in the trunk of the car and just grab the day's bag of…
Spotlight in OS X does a lot of this, but I don't know any Mac users other than myself who use it for anything more than finding documents. They still go to their dock to launch apps or to a calculator widget, even though it's much faster to press Command+Space to do those tasks.
I, along with a number of friends, go to a potluck Thanksgiving at a UU church. Everyone makes one dish. So much easier. And lots of different people to mingle with. They're a pretty funny bunch too.
Do you still keep your netbook in your cargo pants pockets? :-D
Really? Even today? That area is now luxury apartments and the opera house I think. Combat Zone was a long time ago.
It seems both financially and environmentally irresponsible to give gifts to everyone. Because of this, I consistently opt out of secret santa at the office every year. It's awkward, but I'd rather that than know that I'm spending money on something stupid and generic that's just going to a landfill.

I'm sure it's not so bad. OS X got rid of the Apple "Start" menu equivalent. Sure there's the Dock which is a different means to the same end, but I barely use that. There are just better ways to launch and switch between programs- like Search for example. I hit Command+Spacebar and then type the first few letters of…
I want to vote for Comcast a million times over. It's a pervasive top down problem over there unfortunately, so nothing is going to change any time soon. I mean, they've been winning 'worst customer service' "awards" for about a decade now...
I never lie.
Like I said- different people have different needs. I haven't found a GTD system that works better FOR ME than Omnifocus (and I tried a bunch)- it's my favorite GTD desktop client and it has wonderful counterparts on iPad and iPhone. I have Windows, Mac, Linux, and Android, but I spend 90% of my time in OS X and iOS.…
You have to remember everyone uses their devices differently based on their lifestyle and/or career. For absolute starters, there are some things some people need to do that they can't do on Android- like control a Keynote presentation, or get mobile access to Omnifocus, or use a company-specific iOS app.
