In California the right lane is the passing lane, or any lane that is open. Just don’t signal your lane change, someone will plug the hole in a split second.
When this is the best compliment you can offer: “The turn signal stalks though, are firm and authoritative. So points back there.” You are not going to get any honda press cars for a while.

I back in all the time, we call it first move forward-it’s a safety thing. That being said I wouldn’t do it if there was someone behind me waiting for a parking spot, that is kinda dick-ish.
