I though my 2002 Impreza was crappy: 3 front axles. 4 wheel bearings, valve adjustment (at 65k), catalytic converter at 100k, front brake rotors at 35k. Trunk lid strut self detached destroying the hatch (warranty/recall). I guess I didn't learn and bought a 2013 outback.... fingers crossed.

I brought two "non-california" cars into California in 1998.

Thank you etark! Nail hit on head. Front weight biased FWD cars are way better in snow and ice than RWD cars.

The answer today is not Miata, it is Subaru. Subaru is all one needs to know about crappy driving conditions.

Okay an awesome green 240z in the foreground and a skylark (i'm guessing here) convertible in the background, very nice.

Dude is like ain't not thang... I would have dropped approximately 1,457 F-bombs in those 10 seconds.

So my memories are better than reality. My mom had the MX-6 version and had the issues you mentioned plus it torched a transmission at 90k. I did like driving it though. Good dynamics, comfortable, and very efficient.

IMO not a shitty car!

I would love a MS3, i have a normal Mazda-Mazda3 and the dash plastic right under the windshield has cracked into three separate pieces. I will probably just put black tape over the cracks. The dash cracked just after the 3/36,000 warranty was up. Also motor mount cracked a seal and leaked fluid onto the ground at

Sand is tricky. If you are dumb and spin the tires down so the axles are sitting on the ground, pretty well screwed is a good way to put it.

...and I love it. Consider this, the original NSX was a bit blaaaa in the styling department but was an incredible car, and is still my favorite super car from the 90's.

I find it amazing that such a common car when it was new, is now such a unicorn. When my high school art teacher bough the Eagle Talon TSI I was so jealous.

Has the V-Tech kicked in yet?

I have two cars with ABS (2013 Outback and a 2006 Mazda 3) it is freaking magic on ice and snow. I hate driving our old truck without ABS when it is really slick. With ABS just depress the pedal and the car stops eventually. I have never experienced ABS confusion due to really slick roads. I live in NW Montana, we

It's basic physics. It takes X amount of energy to go Y speed (plus acceleration). Regardless of what kind of engine you have it will take a fixed amount of calories to move a vehicle. Diesel's make more torque, so they are slightly more efficient at moving a big mass.

That is about what the OEM tires look like on my outback and they suck in the snow.

That all-wheel drive or 4WD will get you anywhere though anything. Think again, I've pulled out several trucks and SUV's this week that had tires churning in the snow and weren't going anywhere. I also stuck my 4WD pretty bad via a high center while driving over plow snow. Momentum is your friend!

Just look at those sweet Datsun Z car rims.

I've seen these and that Infinity thing around town lately. For styling and past positive experience with a Suburban I would get a Tahoe or Yukon before one of these.

Awesome car, other than the trans, really well put together. Really comfortable-more GT cruiser than canyon carver. My only complaint is the wipers loft off the windshield at speeds >95 mph.
