Good thing the left is never offended by anything. Oh wait....
So the dad from A Christmas Story starred in Mission Mars. It’s weird seeing him in another role.
My Lego inventory. I not only inventory all the sets I own, but also the individual bricks.
If Independence Day 2 isn’t nominated and doesn’t win every single Razzie award, then the judges must not have seen the movie. That movie was steaming pile of shit in every category and point of view. ID2 was orders of magnitude worse than BVS.
Word of the day: obsequious.
Yes, this!!! This is what I was waiting for the video to show, the relative scale of a human structure and the depths of the ocean. xkcd shows the the awesome scale of the ocean far more effectively than the video.
My understanding is that Mars lacks sufficient nitrogen to grow crops. Sure, if you hall a bunch of fertilizers and mineral nutrients from Earth, you can use Mars soil as a base substrate and fertilize the hell out of it. But can Mars soil alone support agriculture? Probably not. There’s not nearly enough atmospheric…
“The front of the packaging shows an idealized heteronormative scenario...”
This article could have been a lot shorter by just saying, “It might have been any character introduced in the 7 Star Wars movies.”
There seems to be a lot of hate for the Overlords. It’s been many years since I read the book, but as I recall, the Overlords envied humanity because we were able to ascend to the Overmind. I recall that they equated themselves to nursemaids who could never have children themselves. They were there to help humanity…
Why save the Junkie (Nick)? Strand indicated that Nick’s lifestyle (druggie) forces him to be very proficient at getting the things that he needs (scoring drugs). So Strand thought this would be a useful skill to have in an ally.
I wasn’t aware of the Jem canon where they find the robot, Echo.
Those are not Lego bricks! Those were probably K’nex brand. The video was cool and interesting, but K’Nex suck.
Same goes with food. Every once in a while I’ll eat a meal (Hamburger Helper, or Hot Pockets) that I loved 10 or 20 years ago. Only to be bitterly disappointed that these foods really taste like shit.
So that’s where Lego got the idea for their Speedorz?!!
My guess is that life is common in the universe. But space-faring intelligence is extremely rare. Look how many billions of years it took human intelligence to evolve on this planet, and it was even a fluke. If not for an asteroid about 60 million years ago, mammals don’t get chance as the dinosaurs exit. If not for…
Or....this is all faked. These people were filmed in Hollywood. There is no space station. It's all an elaborate hoax, and this footage proves it! /sarcasm/
He also has The Long Utopia coming out in a couple months. This is part of a series of books he coauthored with Stephen Baxter, called the Long Earth series. This series does a fantastic job with the multiverse idea. One of my favorite series.
Or you could buy Lego Mindstorm.
