2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup, 2016 Copa America Centenario (SET TO BE PLAYED IN FUCKING AMERICA, YOU GUYS!!!) 2016 Rio Olympics, and a very very good shot at the 2017 Confed Cup in Russia. We're gonna be seeing a lot of the USMNT in the next few years. Can't wait. Won't have to.

It's a little strange that Copa America Centenario isn't being played up more. Yesterday on ESPN, they had a list of upcoming tournaments for the US and they didn't even include it. It could very likely be Howard's international swansong and with the possibility of Neymar, Messi, James Rodriguez in the mix, it should

That's what makes him endearing

He did, but he missed it.

Obama only got through on the 16th attempt. Tim Howard blocked all the other calls.

for those without insider:

Even without projecting all the prospects, I still say the lineup for 2018 looks very, very good. By USMNT standards. Not exactly sold on the idea that we'll be solid enough for a 4-3-3, but a better 4-4-2 diamond is certainly possible. As I said in the other thread..

I once asked for a large cheese pie in a pizza place in Virginia and the waitress said, "Oh, I don't think we have pie."

This is not an answer but I went back to my old j-school to speak to some students and their first question for me was "Are you the guy who writes those 'Why Your Team Sucks' stories? Those are great!" I said I was not. They had no further questions.

Finishing 15th in a tournament that began with 208 countries is not "less than mediocre." Perspective, people.

The 2016 Copa America should be interesting, that's for sure. CONCACAF and CONMEBOL should just have that ever four years and turn it into our version of the Euros. it could be pretty awesome.

I guess it's a sign that US Soccer has arrived when people are acting like we got lucky to advance. Let's not overlook what this team has accomplished so far:

We got emails here at the office saying we were at 89% capacity because too many people were streaming. I've never been prouder of my coworkers.

Anyone complaining how they got through can get bent. Fuck it they drew the toughest group. Beat a longstanding hurdle, came within seconds of a great victory and appeared to be running on fumes in this game and still gave a great effort. Fuck all the haters about backing in. They made it. In the words of Ice Cube:

Patriot.

Oh man. I can't wait to play the part where Jenny gets AIDS.

I don't find this GIF all that humerus.

Nice piece.
I think the bottom line is that England, and English players, are not that good at soccer.
They always come into the World Cup overrated and always leave disappointed (save 1966). I think that's a truly English disease, one born from the "we invented the game" mentality and carried through the "we have the
