It is literally painful to watch the ginger try SO hard to emulate Clarkson. He shouts everything he says, he “screams” while accelerating in the car. He tries to make facial expressions. It just feels so forced and awkward.

The ginger is to blame. He’s what gamers call a “try-hard.” I can’t understand why they hired Chris Harris, yet don’t use him for the power lap-ready car reviews. Such a waste.

No kidding. Screw a bunch of robot cars. How can Jalops, of all people, support a technology that will ultimately kill their ability to drive?

That doesn’t change the fact that it sets a dangerous precedent on future autonomous cars. There is such thing as right to privacy, and while this info has been released only during accidents thus far, you know it won’t be limited to that forever.

So, tesla essentially is saying: “You may opt out of datalogging at the expense of a whole lot of really neat stuff.”

...aaand Tesla is not the police which is the main problem to me here.

Again there’s a difference between a lawyer or an insurance company getting an order in court to access your data and Tesla communicating your data to the public (and in this case incriminating you) with no supervision whatsoever.

Well there are serious objections with that (not necessarly in that particular case but about the principle in general) because it’s the manufacturer accessing the data, and it’s the manufacturer’s system writing the data. So they could tamper with data or swipe the embarrassing details under the rug as much as they

Blaming poor UX on the user, instead of the designer, is a weak excuse.

Thank you for calling Tesla customer support. How may I help you?

(reads Kid Rock cruise, thinks no way)

The Chinese will never play ‘fair’. And their legal system is rigged more than that in Western countries.

Really guys... Gawker media has a contract with Facebook to push live streams. Fine I understand. But how come you guys have not had a memo of some kind as far as vertical videos are concerned????

Because cleanliness.

It is terrible, but I don’t think their main motivation is to entertain us. It seems to me one must enjoy the activity and the entertainment factor is probably a secondary motivation.

As I always say, Elon Musk is about the most unlit steely individual I’ve ever come across.

True. Although I like Tesla, I have an issue with the company in general because its products could have been released a lot sooner and been more relevant if they’d been normal vehicles with good styling and electric powertrains, instead of futuristic spacemobiles (see this TTAC article for a better understanding of

Coming from someone who works in the manufacturing industry, I agree. You have an AML (approved manufacturer list) with multiple manufacturers for a single part/component so a line never goes down if you can't get what you need from your regular supplier.

Not to give the truck driver any credit but the Nissan driver wasn’t passing anyone and looked to just be blocking him in the passing lane, intentionaly. There seems to be enough blame to go around with this one.

Let me first say the truck driver should be charged with assault with a deadly weapon and there is no excuse for the truck driver’s actions.
