That’s a slide.
That’s a slide.
If it’s the original motor, it would NOT be better to get another engine. It would be better to restore the original. The car with the original engine is worth WAY more than a swap.
“By not doing a restoration they have prevented it from catching on fire again.”
If they made it sound better, I’d be all for it. But they did not, which as I said, “TO ME” takes away the majority of what makes a Ferrari so great, the sound.
Even better, ElectricGT stands to make a fortune if they send this car to RM Sotheby’s Auction as a “one of one” Ferrari, and the world’s billionaire douche bag pseudo-enthusiasts bid the price up into the Retardosphere.
What’s funny about it? You’ve driven them? Great, but what does that even mean? I’ve owned one.
There are plenty of interesting things they could have done that wouldn't have destroyed the soul of the car. A more modern Ferrari V8 for example.
I'm okay with it too, but I still don't like it. It could have been rebuilt with a Ferrari engine. I'm not saying this is some horrible thing, it's just lost one of the major factors in it being desirable.
Taking the sound away in anything but the most utilitarian form of transportation is bad in general. I suppose its been a year or so since the Jalop article on E-drag racing was published but one of the posters there wanted that to be the future of drag racing in a big way and I told him it would probably doom drag…
Because if "Electric GT" had converted a kit car they never would have ended up on the front page of Jalopnik.
That music in the video is awful. I feel sick after listening to that. Time to go watch some real engine sounds somewhere on youtube to get that music out of my head.
They sounded pretty good for their time. But even now they sound far better than the high pitched low volume whine of an electric motor.
Well that’s just plain stupid. Why didn’t they just buy a fiberglass Ferrari kit car and do that instead of wasting a potentially valuable car? I mean they were going to restore the Ferrari anyways, why not give it some value? This is almost as childish and stupid as something I would see Clarkson, Hammond and May…
That’s a pretty nice golf cart!
I’m a Ferrari fan, have been for as long as I can remember, dad owned a couple over the years and I even had a 308 for a short time back when they were genuinely cheap. With that said, this conversion is terrible IMO. I can get speed in just about any car out there, with enough money, time, and skill you can make just…
There’s always the chance the batteries could explode. Keep hope alive!
Kind of a werd stance to take after you celebrated this asshole who probably endangered other peoples kids:
