i don’t buy a Toyota for cutting edge technology. i buy a Toyota for dependability. Toyota’s best and only move is to let others take on the risk of developing tech, and then swoop in and make and sell hundreds of thousands of units that don’t break down. it’s baffling to me that anyone would expect or even suggest

Great, now just build the manual Wrangler I ordered back in January.

I’ve heard they are doing away with the roll down rear window which really was the feature that sold the 4runner for me, that and being super simple to work on and reliable.  With a hybrid that’ll add a bit of complexity to the ability to work on it as well as not having the roll down rear window, I’m out.

See: Ford Maverick

If they put this in the GX I would gladly replace my ‘18 with it. Poor gas mileage and requiring premium are my only complaints about the vehicle as it is now, and the model is due for a refresh soon.

It sounds like “the problem with Toyota” is that they’re providing the trucks that fill the largest market demand and not tailoring their offerings to a niche demographic that wants a truck but also wants MPG’s and doesn’t care about power?

Slow down? We literally use child slave labor and use dynamite to blow holes in mountains while using huge gas guzzling tractors to collect these minerals right now. This approach uses science instead of African child labor and the company behind it (The Metals Company) has done nothing but provide the ISA with

Any electric car owner:

Hi. Californian here. Also (now former) Mazda owner, two different models; the late-model 6, and a CX-9.

I rarely side with automakers or dealers, but damn these owners suck and just need to deal with it. This is literally how every consumer product works. Unless there was a contract or documentation stating these would never be made again... too fucking bad? This is what you get for overpaying for stupid vehicles.

This is the real key. They're still 10 fold too high. So even a "pennies on the dollar" scenario puts you at dimes or quarters. Tesla is so overvalued that the return to a normal valuation is somehow going to bring us all with it.

They still need to lose another 390B of that 440 before they hit GM’s value. And, honestly -- I honestly don’t think they are worth that much, either.

First gear:

It’s silly IMO to have two different outputs. You can get a poverty spec Ranger with full power, having full power at low prices makes it easier to justify over a fullsize truck.

I hired Tom to find me an Elantra back in early 2021. Did he save me the whole cost of his fee? Maybe, it was probably about a wash. But he definitely saved me a ton of bullshit. In the current market, which is far worse now, sell your car for cash, and hire a pro to find what you’re looking for. That’s the real tip.

Come on the guy is a business owner! Get something that’s fun but still classy and surprisingly practical:

I think this is what 911s are specifically made for.

They would sell the absolute hell out of an EV Maverick.

If it’s an electric Maverick, Dearborn can have my money right now.

I saw a Rivian in the parking lot at work on Monday. It was a sharp looking truck. I hope they sell a bunch of them, I’m probably a couple years away from car shopping but if they don’t take a nose dive between now and then I’ll definitely put them on the maybe list.
