The rotary engine isn’t going to help Mazda with the CAFE standards; they’ve come a lot further with the SkyActiv technology.
This will especially be a great idea in cities that have congestion charges (like London) or access restrictions (like Athens). If the automakers could arrange with the city governments to allow reduced fees or increased access, the city dwellers and automakers would benefit.
