FYI, IMDB is my source, so take that as you will, but I haven’t heard much mentioned and not appearing in the trailer isn’t a great sign.

Ad-supported streamers are now reinvigorating the “cable” rights money flow that were lost in all the cord cutting of the last 15 years. So a streamer can make cash from combos of subscription revenue + (if so desired) theatrical release + “cable” rights. This is actually a great thing for getting things made that can

Is Stephanie Hsu out? She was keeping Joel interesting.

The scale of Marvel’s success always depended on casual viewers joining the diehards (you need all of the above to mint blockbusters). While the core comic film fandom will never tire and has high tolerance for C- and D-tier characters, the dabblers have certainly fatigued. Comic fans are well versed in the minutiae

Gleeson certainly has some Mathau-like qualities but I’m sticking with the Grant-Cox axis. She’s only 60, but Michele Yeoh would be fun in the Sophia Loren role (and be age-appropriate for Grant yet a bit young for Cox).

There’s something beautifully familial about the way Cox hates Strong’s shenanigans yet clearly likes and respects him. And Strong takes me as the kind of person who really can just feed off the annoyance (especially since isn’t that their characters’ dynamic anyway?).

Grumpy Old Men reboot with Brian Cox and Hugh Grant, please.

Last season was delightful, though the baking talent wasn’t as high as in recent series. I think the revolving hosts have actually fared way better than might have been expected. A good co-host just needs to be sweet to the contestants and take frequent jabs at Paul’s vanity.

Hugh Grant needs a talk show. A grumpy ass talk show where he insults and gets short with the guests. I would watch every damn episode. “On My Last Nerve Tonight.”

Between this and Industry Season 3 happening I’m honestly kind of shocked. https://www.digitalspy.com/tv/a43271982/industry-season-3-cast/

Hey, Academy, we got some nice coats over there for you, right around the corner.

Netflix: how would you like the worst of both worlds?

I really wanted to see a zombie giraffe. Really feel let down.

BUT BELLA FOUND GAME IN NO TIME. In the reality set up by the show it’s mind-boggling.

Fair, except BELLA FOUND LOTS OF GAME IN LIKE 2 HOURS ... I mean, come on! In the reality of the show it makes no sense.

All this rearranging allows them to avoid talking about the real problem with this show: it lacks much of the L&O formula/charm, rendering it just another forgettable procedural. It’s really L&O in name only. I’m guessing that was a major chafing point for Dick Wolf veterans who probably knew exactly what was missing

Distributing intimate images without consent isn’t funny. It’s fucked up and illegal. (Not sure why it’s being treated with such a light touch in this story.) Hating someone isn’t going to protect an offender from revenge porn charges. And any conviction could require registration as a sex offender.

On paper, Tar is Oscar baity -- from the cast to the subject matter. But in execution it’s so idiosyncratic, so loose (but clearly written within an inch of its life) and vibrant. The run time didn’t even register with me. Blanchett created one of the great anti heroes of recent years. A monster who you can’t quite

Hawley and Pizzolato both lost the thread. Legion season 1 and part of season 2 really worked, but I think season 3 of both Fargo and Legion broke his brain. Everything became heightened in ways that were not at all fun (very much throwing spaghetti at the wall territory). And True Detective couldn’t recapture the

Also, you go to those shows for more than plot advancement. You come to them to hang out with the characters. Tight little seasons don’t offer the same pleasures (but are valid for other kinds of shows).
