Long Beach is one of more diverse areas in South LA. Surprised this happened here. Usually our crime is more of the shooting and stabbing variety.

Every service member in both sides of my extended family, active or retired, and then several friends, and co-workers.
Cite sources please. Everyone even remotely related to the armed forces that I have spoken with feel very differently.
Neutral: Did you buy a car in February? What did you get?
Yeah, but check out that sweet Miata!
Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.
Same. Both my BMW and my Honda need to have the air bags remedied. However, neither of them have parts available to do so.
Hi Justin, I was at the launch event for the Yenko Corvette. There are a few loose ends in your article that I’ve been answering in the comment section. I’ll address them right here:
Yup, that is incorrect. The supercharger used on the Yenko is bespoke and designed by SVE.
Sister company to Classic Industries. :)
1) That was disappointing, however, it was bucketing rain that day so the reveal had to be done indoors. The area they choose was curtained off for photography/lighting reasons, not ideal for starting a car.
Correct. The Z06 uses a much smaller supercharger. David Hamburger told me that the 2.9L unit they are using is bespoke and designed by them. The 800HP figure has a lot of overhead left untapped :)
GM doesn’t own the rights to the Yenko name, that’s how. The Yenko IP is owned by Classic Industries, who commissioned SVE (formerly SLP) to produce these vehicles.
I was at the launch event and asked for details:
Yes. I was there and asked David Hamburger of SVE about this exact question. The vehicle retains a warranty a la Dinan and the BMWs. SVE works with the dealer network on covering repair costs. It’s like a piggyback warranty.
This is my first thought as well.
Am I missing something? Rod bearings have a set service interval on “S” series engines, usually around the 100,000 mile mark. Shops in the greater LA area will do it for around $800-1500 depending on which p[articular engine you have. That’s no more egregious than any car that needs a timing belt replaced at 100k.
Dodge has that. It’s a Challenger drag pack with the Viper V10 engine.
Are we listening to the same car? It sounds awful.
So how, with your years of experience, can you not appreciate another form of grassroots motorsport that is the most easily accessible of the bunch? In Socal, where this was filmed, drifting is magnitudes cheaper to get involved with than autocross, rallycross, track days, time attack, timed rally or anything else.…
