Did our first drift event in the Project 240 the week before last, and handbrake entry was the hardest part. The coordination of clutching in, flooring the throttle and ripping the handbrake is weird. I found clutch kicking to be the easiest way to get the fun stuff started.

Thanks. When we bought it, it hadn’t run in years and was 12 shades of primer. Got it running, the motor had timing chain failure and let go. We built a motor from the ground up, painted it in the backyard and A BUNCH of other stuff.

Drifting! Team JSR will be taking our beater out for it’s inaugural shake down event tomorrow.

Come to a BMWCCA Club Race, you’ll probably end up weak in the knees with all of the cool sheetmetal that shows up.

Always fun seeing local drivers and names pop up on here. Shout out to the SCTS racing white and green F80 M4. They bought that car salvaged, it arrived on a forklift and they repaired it themselves and turned it into one hell of a race car in just a few months time.

I love Johan De Nysschen, for better or worse, he doesn’t take shit from ANYONE.

Sadly, my current automotive obsession is this terrible 240 we’ve been restoring in the backyard for the past few months. It’s been one hell of a project, and despite still looking like a total pile of shit, it has literally hundreds of hours of work in it.

I take it you’ve never actually done any form of motorsport before?

“It’s also worth noting that the wing featured in the spy photos is extremely similar, if not identical, to the wing on the Corvette C7 R race car.”

Agree. Multiple people have asked me for the “car guy’s” opinion on the Civic, because they think it looks really good and want one.

Have you seen the front end? It’s hideous.

Answer me this: Is the X&Y series actually worth watching, or is it still 15 minutes of gratuitous and obvious Team Rocket meddling, and the occasional battle/plot point per 20 minute episode?

Booooooo, get off the soap box!

Same thing as pulling the shifter out of gear, into neutral, and pumping the clutch pedal 2x before engaging reverse. :)

Weird, the original picture I was replying to is gone. Someone posted a crazy Miata autocross car. That’s what I was responding to.

NB Miata SE wheels, note the 4-lug hubs.

I cut it out for brevity, but here’s the issues my friends with BRZ/FRS have dealt with:

Oh, I love that condescending tone. ;) Yes, after working on and being around enough of them, I know all about the FA20.

A valve cover gasket ($50) has been the only noticeable engine issue, and that’s because my car has quite literally thousands of very hard track miles. Heat kills gaskets.

Most Toyota interiors <30k are garbage, cheap, and able to be both tinny and plasticy at the same time. I will say that the current generation of Toyota is miles ahead of what they were making a few years ago. Ever been in a pre-2010ish Corolla? Appalling.
