The thing to keep in mind is that realistically the soonest I would expect them to be able to begin construction is 2 or so years from now. Shutting down and then dismantling a nuclear power plant isn't exactly quick.

Oh I know, I'm not saying it isn't although I would imagine it's probably pricier than that of the Lexus.
Yes obviously. As one is turbocharged and one isn't, my point is that the majority of aftermarket parts for a 2JZ-GTE will bolt onto a 2JZ-GE and it's fairly easy to swap a 2JZ-GTE into an IS300 if you prefer to go that route.
Based on what exactly.
Yeah they are different, the NA 2J’s are actually stronger because the block is less stressed(obviously). But the majority of 2JZ-GTE parts will bolt onto a 2JZ-GE.
You can find them if you look hard enough. And the question isn't how easy is it to find them with a manual and then tune them. It's which is a better tuner car. And you can get a shit load of power for not a lot of money out of a 2JZ.
How is it lacking in terms of aftermarket? The engine is a 2JZ which is extremely tunable and sold from the factory with boost in cars other than the IS300.
Yeah but the IS300 has a 2JZ and an extremely strong transmission from the factory. The amount of aftermarket for the 2JZ is insane.
Because you know, a part that was most likely violently separated from a plane as it slammed into the ocean which was then under or partially under the water for several months is totally the same as a piece of headlight that was picked up within hours of it being broken off.
This.
I’d take the RX7 but I’m a whore for Mazda’s so that isn't surprising.
Considering the majority of turbo cars since the year 2000 don't have horrendous turbo issues, I'm going to say quite a while. My dads 2002 Saab 93 was just traded in with 192k on it and it had the original turbo and didn't burn any oil.
It’s proving itself because it can do what the V8 truck does. That’s the whole point.
Elon Musk is a Bond villain, I feel we have thoroughly established this already. So what does that make Christian?
Because anyone with even a marginal amount of intelligence can figure it out.
Exactly. It’s obvious so why state it? Because they want to intimidate the people who are responsible with punishing them for breaking the law.
They can cut costs in ways other than laying off large amounts of employees. Like not making another redundant SUV or an electric 4 door Porsche.
We both know there is no way in hell they would actually fine VW 46 billion.
So basically VW is making sure the justice department knows that if they fine VW an amount that is meaningful, VW will make sure it hurts the US economy by cutting a significant amounts of jobs. Awesome.
That is kind of the point when you are trying to redefine what a modern hyper car is which is exactly what the veyron did.
