If your whole argument is about carbon footprint, then you don’t have an argument. A chartered 777 uses the same amount of fuel as a commercial 777 and the people displaced so the pope and his entourage can fly commercial will just get on another plane...

This is the funniest thing I have seen all day by a HUGE margin.

I love the teeny tiny ford logo

I think a lot of these suffer from poor high-speed aero issues, so the MPG are probably lower than you’re expecting.

Sharks with freakin’ lasers

I agree. I think its because the planes can be roughly described as a cylinder with a pointy bit on the end, some rectangles on the sides for engines and a pair of big wings.

I love boxy old russian planes. They just look so damn cool for some reason.

I really like this interior. Like a lot. Its very clean and it seems almost familiar. It reminds me of the lay out of my 6’s interior a lot.

This I can agree with. If I could edit my previous comment I would add something to the tune of “this doesn’t mean VW should get a slap on the wrist, it means that the other two, particularly GM should be punished more harshly than they were.”

Ignorance of breaking the law. They didn’t know the cars were illegal and had no reason to suspect otherwise.

A drug smuggling operating and a car company that cheated an emissions test are COMPLETELY different. Your suggestions aren’t even close to realistic.

“No one was satisfied with GM’s paltry fine, but the EPA has a much bigger hammer than the NTHSA. In a perfect world both companies would receive painful fines for their actions/inactions.”

Actually no, I accept the fact that is climate change. However I value the deaths of hundreds of people directly from the poor decisions of a company more than a contribution to the deaths of people by another company.

Except we aren’t talking about levels of pollution that will kill people all on their own. Where as with GM, had they decided fixing their ignition switch was worth the money, hundreds wouldn’t be dead or maimed.

Lol wow, I knew there would be someone who would make a comment like this. At any point in my original post did I say I disputed those studies? Did is say pollution wasn’t bad? No, I didn’t say either of those things. My point is that covering up a fault you found in a prototype car which results in the death and

Yes they did, and they should be punished, but they should not be punished more severely than either GM or Toyota because both of them got people killed. Especially GM, while it wasn’t designed into the switch, it was kicked under the rug for effectively a decade and a half and the fault was discovered in a prototype

Let me start this off by saying I am a huge supporter of cleaning up emissions in general, though not at all costs, but it really shows how fucked up our priorities as a nation are if you get a bigger fine for lying to the feds than for killing people. Again, it is ridiculous that VW did this and it was a terrible

Except that florida already has a self defense law on the books, which means that you do not need a stand your ground law to protect yourself if you feel your life is threatened.

This is an awesome tribute and one of the best examples I can think of as to why the entire motorsports community is so great.
