I agree completely. At some point within the next 5 years It is a goal of mine to manual and 4V swap a crown vic because it is impossible to buy a car built like that today unless you want to spend A LOT of money.

Yeah the TC was what i was getting at. The 2 valve is a bit of a dog but cams can really bring out its mean side.

Considering the amount that you can beat on a 4.6L SOHC motor and not have it break, quite a while. The weakest point of the Crown Vic drivetrain is the transmission and even they are pretty resilient.

Yes it usually is, depending on the headlight. Those globes are for projector headlight assemblies which are incredibly good at throwing very focused light long distances. MOST but not all projector head lights can be retro fitted with HID bulbs without blinding all the people in front of you.

Replacing those stupid rubber blocks that ford used to put between the body and the frame of old t birds. It didn’t go well. Using the ford procedure, I ended up tweaking the body out pretty badly and totaling the car. I only take solace in the fact that the parts from my t bird helped put 9 other t birds back…

Mazda has used the Miata platform for another car before, the RX-8 rode on a stretched miata platform. It’s part of the reason that car was such a gem to drive on a windy road.

They aren't building your fantasy mid engined supercar. They are building a kick ass race car for the track and the road and couldn't care less about your opinion. They care about lap times and they care about reliability and repeatability of those lap times.

I think the problem with the rear end is that it looks italian. I really like the whole car but I’m a bit biased when it comes to Mazda. If they built it, chances are that i will like it.
