Not really, because that car costs significantly more than a base Taurus and it also has had some pretty steep dealer mark ups depending where you go. You can get into a taurus for under $30k.

Yeah I agree and I really doubt ford will put the money in to make it happen. Its a shame because I imagine that they could make a pretty damn good fullsize sedan by using what they know about bigger RWD sedans from their aussie division. While not a cash cow I think it would sell reasonably well.
I just bought a Mazda 6 with less miles, more power, better handling, WAY more options, better looks(in my opinion), that is 12 years newer and I spent $1200 LESS after taxes and registration. Its a cool car, but that is way way too much money.
If they stepped up their game on the quality of the car, the group of people who want a fullsize sedan but don’t want to shell out the big bucks for something german. That said, I see ford killing the taurus because if it doesn’t exist and you want a fullsize sedan made by FoMoCo, the only place to turn is lincoln.…
I second this, as a small engine mechanic the amount of chinese bullshit that comes in my shop is unreal. Its all junk. You can’t work on ANY of it because how are you supposed to justify an hour of labor($81.50) on a weed wacker that cost the customer $88 at sears? To make matters worse, they CONSTANTLY break and end…
True, but a taurus x based on the current taurus would fit exactly the same spot in the market that the flex does and it would most likely have less room inside. That part of the market isn’t very big to begin with so having two models for that market doesn’t make sense. Its a cool idea and I’m always in favor of more…
Its less capable than you think, the rear diff can’t handle shit for power and the PTU at the front is notorious for blowing up because its one of those “The gearbox oil is good for the life of the machine” deals. The SHO needs a well designed AWD system and a bump in HP/TQ and a drop in weight and it would be a…
Because it would essentially be a ford flex which is already a thing.
How to fix the taurus: Make it weigh less than 5 thousand tons, offer a REAL SHO option that can actually handle the motor it gets, design it for the group of people who actually will buy it, not the people who are already sold on SUV’s.
Its an awesome car for sure but when I looked at the interior shot and saw only one dial I couldn’t help but think of that top gear review where Jeremy is reviewing a nissan versa or something and says something like “For your money you get some carpets and A DIAL!”
Biased idiot is a biased idiot.
Except the driver in first wasn’t driving conservatively and the driver behind him wasn’t driving well enough to pass him anyway other than ramming him out of the way.
Actually no, its just a cheap move. What is the point in actually having any kind of driving prowess if you can just come in too hot and use the back of another car to scrub off the speed to make the corner, completely screwing the guy you hit?
Except we aren’t talking about being gentlemanly. We are talking about a shitty driver not intentionally pushing someone wide because they can’t pass them any other way.
God damn. The new GT350 just looks so mean and so bad ass with that paint scheme.
I was never trying to make it an american thing, it just wouldn’t have surprised me at all if some american celebrities spoiled kid did this. I’m happy that it wasn’t an American kid.
There are quite a few american celebrities whose kids I could see acting like this.
I think you are confusing chassis stiffness with poor suspension tuning.
