I was a deck cadet on the USNS Patuxent a couple summers ago serving in the Middle East and Med. Saw a lot and we gave fuel to international vessels and aviation operating agains ISIS in the Arab Gulf and even an evacuation of our embassy in Libya. These ships are vital and can operate with a fraction of a navy crew.
