If you had read that properly, you would see that isn't what I said at all. I said that people who take revenge for wrongs done to them, illegal or not, are often found innocent

You are very caught up on the illegal bit here, but that is not the only relevant thing. For example, many many people have been found innocent of any crime ofter stabbing or shooting someone who was sleeping with their spouse. Did the person having an affair commit a crime?
