I think he followed the same path as me for the first bit, but I tromped him by completely avoiding the maze part with the onion thing.

Ha! Glad that you caught that; I even pulled up that photo and ran around different parts of New Donk City to try and make it look as close as possible.

New Donk has one of my favorite paths to get my record. I feel like that’s the most important part of the races: figuring out what’s essentially a skip. I don’t think I’ve set my record on a race yet by actually following the gold Koopa’s path.

We at least have not gotten a main Nintendo game that uses it. There have been a couple indie games. I guess Splatoon 2 does use it for the drawing stuff. My biggest problem with Mario Maker Switch (not that I don’t want it) and its control scheme is that even if there is a touchscreen functionality to it, it would

Yeah, that’s his normal animation for grabbing the hat, and if you smack the snails with the hat they make a weird noise and goofy face. I was trying to get a ton of pictures of the face because it cracked me up enough, and then I happened to get the one and thought it looked perfect.

Super Mario Odyssey is still claiming my heart. I got to the final area earlier this week, and I’ll have to push through and beat it. It’s pretty brutal, though. I also ran around for a bit getting some goofy and wild screenshots of the game. Its snapshot function is incredible. I love how much emotion you can

I think I get fixated on a point, usually where the game is guiding me to go...but as soon as I actually spot something off the path, I’m probably going for it. Like, in Breath of the Wild I wasn’t just going off the path to find lizards or apples, but if the orange glow of a shrine caught my eye, it was off the path.

I feel like I am going to 100% it...but only eventually. It’ll be a game that I revisit to get closer to that mark. It’s been my preferred method of tackling games now, if anything. It helps me not get burned out.

I’ll probably be playing through the post-story content of Super Mario Odyssey. I plowed through the last half of the game on Tuesday, but still haven’t put it down. There’s just so much left to do. There’s only one minor complaint I have with it [next paragraph, not too spoilery, but still] Not sure I like that the

I finished Super Mario Odyssey’s main story. That, of course, means that there’s still a lot to do, but it’s now a lot easier to put it down if I want to play something else.

I think what you have to consider is how big BvS is supposed to be as a film, in terms of what big-budget Hollywood is doing and its approach to the geek media. The Marvel cinematic universe is the highest grossing franchise of movies, between its sheer volume of films and that even its weakest entries manage to pull

But, separate from my more personal experience post, I want to give kudos to the Mario games in general for finding a good balance between accessibility and challenge. It went from its secrets being rewards, challenges, and skips for more experienced players to letting anyone reach the end game. Mario 64 kind of

I went around getting moons for the heck of it and because I wanted to explore, especially in the Sand Kingdom. But my excitement to do so was hampered a bit when I realized you need to get a number of moons in a certain world to move on from that world; it’s not just about how many moons you have. I’ll pick up some

It does make a bit more sense when you consider that Jar Jar exists just to exist. George Lucas wanted to make an entirely CGI character just to have a CGI character, thus it wasn’t necessarily filling a role in the story. It was at least ambitious, even if the end result was lacking.

So, two ones I can think of...

So, this became somewhat of a meme for me and how my friends viewed me...we were all playing Fable II at the same time, on separate files but the same Xbox, so we would watch each other play and see how everyone did different things. I bought a house in the small farming village, a nice home that had a windmill behind

At the moment, I’m only at Knightingale, so I feel like I haven’t quite gotten the feel for what exactly the game is or is going for. Is it a Zelda game, where you get new powers and upgrades? Is it Mario 64, where your whole moveset is basically there at the start, but how to execute and use those powers is what you

My copy of Super Mario Odyssey should be arriving today, so of course that’s going to happen. I also would like to finish Yono and the Celestial Elephants and get the October gear from Splatoon 2's Salmon Run, but we’ll see how much Mario grabs me.

Not having control over a town is such a big difference though. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll be eagerly diving in to pick fruit and gather shells in Pocket Camp, but I’ll miss being able to choose where trees actually are planted, putting up signs, and teaching catchphrases to my animal friends. But, it also makes sense
