My favorite part about Carcasonne is that it’s relatively simple but still has the opportunity for a lot of strategic decision making. The variety of scoring mechanics can be a little intimidating for new players, but since it doesn’t rely on any secret information it’s easy to walk them through all their options.

I’m usually not one for headcanon, but until someone involved in the movie says otherwise I’m going to think of the characters performing the stage play as the actors themselves, hired/kidnapped from Earth by Loki.

Also, the blinds/antes are increasing on a set schedule, so your chips are constantly depreciating.
