It depends. I did background checks for my last employer. There was a lot of “hey can you come back in six months?” talk. They certainly want the best worker, but not at the cost of bad publicity.

I’m a huge Detroit Tigers fan. I had trouble cheering for them when Alfredo Simon pitched. He was not found guilty of a crime... but he was tried for murder and is facing a civil rape suit. I couldn’t not think about that whenever he took the mound. Maybe that’s a personal failing of mine, I don’t know.

Agreed. The whole story was framed in a manner that made her inconsequential to it at first. I believe the first I read about it was in a tweet where someone wrote, “Barnes travels 95 miles to fight Derek Fisher.” giving the impression that it was more about Derek Fisher than his ex-wife.
