The articles literally say the letter was sent to Us Weekly employees. If it was sent to other employees of the other publications, they make no mention of it.

As far as I am aware, both by this article and those linked, this letter was sent to Us Weekly employees. What you’re talking about has no relevance. And even if it were sent to all employees, empathy is still possible. If you’re an employee of the other titles mentioned, you’re not overly concerned (I’ve been in both…
I am aware of all of this and totally agree. That doesn’t mean I’m going to just bob my head and go along with it. I’m simply saying that to accept their behavior as is leads to the normalization of said behavior (and yes, I’m aware this has become normalized behavior).
Well then that is your mistake. I live in the “reality based” world as well. And have worked for a number of corporations that have sent out similar missives. I understand that is the reality, but that doesn’t mean I need to accept it. To do so just gives corporations, and their executives, the excuse to keep treating…
Oh my God. This is the best. There are not enough stars for this.
I’m not sure that is the truth, but even if it is (actually especially if it is) they should try being more compassionate in these stupid letters rather than totally ignoring the human cost of their actions and focusing on puffing up their chest.
Over the course of the next several months, we will be implementing a plan to double down on the growth of our remaining brands — Rolling Stone, Men’s Journal and Glixel. There is no doubt, without Us Weekly, our company will be different, and as a result, we must become different. I could not be more excited for the…
Beautifully put! I would add, however, that it’s still infuriating. Just because these corporate douche bags do it all the time doesn’t mean anyone should get used to, or accept, it.
Ha! This has made my day.
+1, know when to hold them
Yassss!!!! The program should have been given the death penalty. And they should get that damn Paterno statue out of storage and grind it to dust.
I actually googled this guy’s piece. Even while reading your article I still wasn’t sure someone could be this stupid and/or so devoid of human sensibilities. Part of me thought this was a joke. I discovered, to my horror, that it is not.
Absolutely! And their horrifying brownshirts....errr.....I mean VOICE unit isn’t even up and running yet. How grim will things be if that comes to fruition?! The targeting, stigmatization and isolation of immigrants is no different than what Hitler, or any other, dictator to-be has done.
Nope. Nada. Ziltch. Zero.
Jesus. That whole family needs to be sterilized. Stat!
Trump might not be able to sued, but for God sake the press should do their job and crucify him for making such reckless accusations without bringing forward even the slightest trace of evidence. Elected officials should do their job and roundly condemn this sort of behavior.
This is the only way it makes sense to me: Trump’s whole life is a ponzi scheme. Smoke, mirrors and orange bronzer cream. And now that he’s President, he’s determined to make the American public a part of it. Ugh.
Ha! That is a great visual. And even more appealing idea. Too bad it can’t happen. Ugh.
