“it’s hard to imagine too many teams mounting a defense against either of them”
“it’s hard to imagine too many teams mounting a defense against either of them”
And he was right to do so.
This is how you do a good and tasteful comment, everyone.
This is amazing. Thanks to a good human for doing something really important for a fellow human, and for following the instinct to take action.
Wendy Williams said on her show a few days ago (it’s on YouTube) that she thinks Cosby is guilty but she doesn’t want him going to jail because he’s too sick and too old. I’m willing to bet that a lot of people, including people on that jury, are feeling all kinds of sympathy for him for that same reason. What it’s…
It’s clear that the defense only called one witness because their client is Bill Cosby. That such a fucking despicable strategy could actually work makes me sick to my stomach.
TL;DR
Hunter Strickland is not a starting pitcher. Do you watch baseball?
At 45 a male enters his prime age for a fatal MI.
So, Matt Harvey got drunk playing golf and can’t work for three days because of it?
I think examining interruption itself skips over the more important issue of good/active listening. The reason so many people interrupt or co-opt a conversation is that they aren’t really listening with the intent to understand, they’re listening with the intent to respond. If you’re already thinking about what you’re…
I’m sorry but interruption is just rude. I work in sales as a sales engineer and there’s a direct link between the sales people that won’t let a client finish a sentence and their inability to sell.
I’m in the camp where it is never right to interrupt. If someone is repeating themselves or getting off track, wait for them to finish, and then let them know they are repeating themselves or are straying from the topic at hand.
It is only the rare occasion that interrupting really helps the conversation. I feel like this article only gives license to the kind of people who are already the self-important interrupting types. “I was helping them make their point!” Hey pal, if you hadn’t interrupted me right now, the next words out of my mouth…
Congratulations on never being scratched or being willing to subject yourself or your furniture to damage. Some people are simply not willing to, but they love cats and do not want them to be killed due to overpopulation, therefore they have their front paws declawed. I have been scratched seriously many times playing…
I too grew up in a house with parents who declawed our cats. Essentially if the declawing procedure had not been available, my parents would not have adopted three shelter cats and one random kitten that appeared in our backyard one day. The first cat was originally an outdoor cat and after a hurricane (from South…
I agree - it's anecdata to say the least. All I meant by it is that I haven't seen any ill effects in my cats, and that I don't think banning declawing is the right way to go about stopping it. I'd honestly advocate for more vets to do it only if they're positive that the owners are making informed decisions and to…
I got totally screamed at here on Jez a few years ago for expressing similar views, so watch out. Our cats are not declawed because of cosmetic reasons; I honestly don't give a shit if they wreck my furniture. They were feral rescued kittens who had been abandoned by their mother in Columbia County, NY, starving and…
The difference between being nice and being kind.
I would say that the top two lessons I've learned in my young life (which go hand in hand, really) are: 1) The importance of being assertive, and 2) The difference between being nice and being kind.
